Mommy & Me Cowboy

Mommy and Me Monday at Really, Are You Serious?

Hosted by Krystyn at Really, Are You Serious?

This was my little cowboy and I at the Super Auction in February 2010. He was 6 months old and I cannot remember why he was frowning but even so, look at those cheeks!!! I miss those HUGE cheeks! He still has chubby cheeks, but not like that!

Lovin' Fall

Oooooohhhh I love this time of year, when the leaves make the air a little more crisp, when long sleeve shirts and sweatshirts come out of hiding, when sunny days are warmed only to about 60 degrees (in Michigan!), when I can break out my pumpkin spiced candles, and the list goes on and on. And having a walking one year old only makes it better! Back to school time is over (thank goodness) because that always causes so much anxiety and guilt for me now that I'm a mom. We've been back five weeks (only 2 with kids) and it's safe to say the school year is rolling along. And that's why I love the fall so much! The only downfall is that my hubs will be absent several times from our lives to go and get our "winter food" if you know what I mean LOL. But I have tons of things to do and many people and places on our list to visit so Carson and Momma will be busy in his absence. And of course, we will miss him!

I thought about and actually started a classroom blog this summer to keep parents communicating with me through the computer which seems to be easier. However, during PD in August, our principal decided all teachers should have a wiki page instead of a blog, which I think is a great idea!! If you've never seen or made a wiki page, it's like comparing myspace to facebook....myspace is like a blog where you can decorate and personalize. Facebook is plain without decoration and is just full of information. A wiki page is like facebook (in a school sense, that is!) where we just upload information and documents. There's no decoration or much personalization, which is awesome for teacher pages!! I created mine and it's as easy as using microsoft word, very user friendly and only takes a couple minutes, which is perfect because at school I have ZERO time for any extra anything.

Here are a couple pictures of my new classroom this year. It's TONS bigger than the rooms I've had in the past! Enjoy..................

Mommy & Me Shadows

So behind on blogging! Shame on me! I have many things to share and just not very much spare time. But I have enough time to share this.....

Ahhhh only a few precious days left of summer vacation left. So sad. It's been a pure joy to be at home with my little man (and hubs too) these 8 weeks. I absolutely HATE being away from him every day for work. If it wasn't for that health insurance....

I've been working on school work while he's napping the last few days because I won't have time once school begins. We get very little prep time and no free time during the school day and I'm not giving up any family time for school work at home in the evenings and weekends. I stuck to my guns about that last year and it worked, however we will have even less prep time this year so I'm not sure how I'm going to get that done. If I can't get it done at work, I guess it won't get done at all!! Life will go on....

Yesterday Carson and I accompanied Kenny on an appointment over an hour away and then stopped at Cabela's on the way home. He loves that store and it's fun for me too! We let Carson push the cart to keep him occupied...he loved it. The pic is blurry but that's because he was in motion!

I think I have some good ideas for Kenny's Christmas presents too....and yes, I am already thinking about Christmas. That's the planner in me!

Knocked out. That's exactly what we were! And daddy found it to be a photo op. So glad he did!

Slow Sunday

It's a very quiet Sunday morning.....Kenny, Carson, and the dog are all still sleeping. I snuck out of bed, turned on the coffee, and grabbed the computer while I can. It's only a matter of time till I hear sounds including needs, wants and endless requests, so I'm taking full advantage of this time to blog and shop online for new shoes for school. And bras. And pants, and about every other part of my wardrobe for fall. I love these moments:)
Friday Kenny and I took Carson to the zoo. He's only 1, so while he had a good time and laughed and pointed at everything, he probably wasn't too sure where he was. The good thing about 1 year olds is that as long as they are smiling and looking around, all is well. We had a great time, didn't get too many pictures though. We were busy looking at things!! The exhibit that caught the baby's attention the most was in the aquarium building, the BIG fish that swim right by the windows. He screamed with delight and pointed the whole time, so cute! No pictures of that, but here are a couple of my boys....

Today the baby and are STAYING HOME. We have been on the go constantly lately and I need a break. I have very little vacation left so I made the executive decision to stay put today. Tomorrow we will be running all over the place!! Happy Sunday!

New Classroom

I'm up way too late, and when that happens, I quite frequently find myself on the computer. Ugh. It's addicting!!

Today I went classroom shopping. I am moving into a bigger room and I need a theme, so away I went to the teacher store. With the help of Niki, I have a cowboy ranch theme going on, and I love it!! Last week I got a little red pup tent from Ikea and that's going to be in the reading corner as the "barn." Then today I found lots of fun cowboy/ranch/farming borders to go on the bulletin boards, there are about 6 of them in the classroom and 4 in the hallway outside my new room that I'm responsible for. There are tons more things for me to get still for this new room, I just had to make a dent in it today. This classroom move is a good thing for me. I've been stressed the last couple of years at work and a move to a new room, new neighbors, a clean, fresh start is making me about 5% excited to go back to work. That's a lot compared to last year!!
